Lisa de St. Croix was born in South Africa.

She moved to the United States and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Her paintings have been shown in many galleries across United States. Lisa’s work has also been shown internationally in France, Mexico and South Africa.

She was an Artist in residence at Artpark, Buffalo, NY and the recipient of a grant from the Robert Rauchenberg Foundation.

Her work is in several collections and many of her paintings hang in public spaces.

As well as painting in oils, Lisa works in visual journals recording in multi media different aspects of her life. Lisa has painted several murals, designed sets and has written and produced puppet shows.

She teaches workshops such as Creating an Oracle Deck, Tarot Visual Journaling and Visionary Painting in her lovely Santa Fe studio as well as at other institutions.

Lisa is currently working on a tarot deck Tarot de St. Croix. Lisa uses her life-experiences as well as the visions she sees in her shamanic journeys as inspiration for her paintings. Lisa has presented her tarot deck in progress at The Ark Bookstore in Santa Fe, The Santa Fe Public Library and in Albuquerque for the local tarot groups.
